Alien Loves Predator |
A picture is worth a thousand words, but a photocomic this good is worth its weight in gold. OK, that was lame, but it's hard to overstate how awesome this interstellar Odd Couple tale is. Exploring the nuances and inanities of urban life is just more enjoyable when two of sci-fi's most notable killing machines are there to show you the way. Just a pity that Jesus had to join the Yankees. He could have done so much better. |

Home to two great comics, Free Lunch and Joe Loves Crappy Movies. Full review of Free Lunch. As for Joe Loves, if the standard movie reviews you see on thousands of websites all the time are starting to run together, you're looking for a site like this to liven things up. The reviews are refreshing in their lack of dry objectivity, and because Joe is so willing to celebrate his love of the cinema, both its finest gems and its mindless schlock and everything in between. That each review comes complete with an above-average strip is just gravy. |
Shortpacked |
A surreal retail comic that isn't afraid to get in touch with its geeky side on a regular basis. Where else can you go from a joke about the almighty Batman to watching Ronald Reagan disarm burglars with pure patriotism, all in the course of a single strip? Where clerks get elected to Congress and sexuality ambiguity is finally funny again? It's all here, and it's all excellent. Do yourself a favor and click away. |

We've done two guest comics for these guys, and I'll be glad to do a dozen more. The unique premise and memorable characters make it great fun to follow, and when there's a story arc afoot, it's bound to be legendary (the Tetrix and the arrival of the female Terminator Red are two good examples of this). The secondary comic Jak's Tales, while it has had a rather rocky life thus far, is also highly recommended. |

I came because of Nault's kindness in helping me out of a tight spot, but I stayed because his writing is just top-notch. This gleefully violent strip pulls no punches, reducing wholesale human slaughter and soul-stealing to an everyday (yet always hilarious) occurence, and finally answers the question of just how much abuse one car (and its owner) can take. Multi-mammaried mime lookalikes and possessed pooches help set this comic above and beyond the common rabble, and will keep you coming back for more week after week. |
